A watch-inspired festive eye look

December 12, 2014

Today I’d like to show you a very special eye look! Recently I was recommended to view Invaluable.com, an online auction website. A watch can sometimes be the perfect inspiration source for a fashion or make up look, which was the idea of this little project. Obviously I couldn’t refuse such a fun, creative project so I had a look around at their watches

… where I came across this beautiful green watch, called the Lot 325: Gents Rolex 18KT Yellow Gold Presidential Day Date Wristwatch. I don’t know the first thing about watches, but I do know that the golden and green colours look very beautiful!

These two colours are perfect for wearing during the holiday season – whether you’re incorporating them into your clothes, accessories or make up. The latter is of course the most interesting to me, so I played around with my eye make up using this watch as my source of inspiration.

After showing you the final look, I’d also like to share with you a few matching accessory and clothing options.

But first: the eye make up!

I always find gold and green two colours that are easy to combine and that also compliment each other beautifully. Add a little bit of brown and black and you’ve got yourself the perfect look for a Christmas party!

Here’s how I created this festive smokey eye. On the lid I started off with a golden cream eyeshadow as a base, with golden (inner half) and green (outer half) eyeshadows on top. Then I began building up the shading colours – dark green and brown for this look – in the outer corner and crease. I made sure to thoroughly blend the eyeshadows together to create a lovely smokey eye. I lined my lower lash line with the same eyeshadows I used before, and my upper lash line with a black gel eyeliner. And finally, a nude pencil on your waterline never fails to add a bit of brightness to the look!
